Somewhere Over the Rainbow

It's easy to get in a rut this time of the year. As winter rolls around we tend to gravitate towards drab colors. I've certainly reached for my share of greys and browns in the last few weeks as opposed to the bright hues I'm known for. Or I'll catch myself pairing red and green plaid with just about everything I can think of. (Although I don't know if I could ever get sick of plaid!) Today I chose this rainbow sweater from Gap that's cozy and definitely not short on colors, however the colors are muted just enough so that it pairs well with earth and jewel tones like these "Merlot" colored pants.

I actually bought this sweater as an impulse buy at Gap; it was $25 and I couldn't resist. Writing this reminds me that the Gap gave me a little card to enter for a chance to win a trip. I better go do that, although I doubt I'll win. I never win anything! Case in point, the woman in front of me in line at Anthropologie won a $100 gift certificate to the store. I kept thinking if only I hadn't gone back for one more trip to the sale rack. Oh, well, one day I'll get my pot of gold!
