Floral Fireworks

Fireworks and flowers are not things that I would normally associate with one another, but J. Crew found a way to incorporate the two into a print aptly named "Firework Floral". I guess now that I think about it, flowers do burst forth from the dirt during spring, sort of like fireworks bursting into flames in the air, but I digress. I waited a long time for this skirt to go on sale, but when it did I knew it would be well worth the wait. First, the graphic is fun and bold and can be easily styled numerous ways. Second, the weight of the skirt is substantial, allowing for it to be worn all year round. My only concern was the fit, which was quite high up on the waist. For a tall person such as myself, this equated to a skirt that was a little on the short side, so I sized up from a 2 to 4 for this one.

On a side note, I really like the location for the pictures today. I am going to rename it "blog alley". When I went to take these photos, there was another woman who was also taking pictures nearby. She had three men with her, one holding the camera, one holding one of those big silver light reflecting circles (sorry, I don't know the technical name for it!) and one directing. I'm not sure if it was for a blog or not, but it was quite the production. Then there was little old me with my husband (he's all the crew I need), not so professional camera in hand, and no silver disc thing. It might not be so professional, but that's just how I roll!
