Thrown Together: Dots and Flowers

Have you ever had one of those mornings where you wake up and you just want to stay in bed, to make matters worse, you have no idea what you're going to wear? Today was one of those mornings. Actually, I have a lot of those of mornings when I think about it. Sometimes I plan out outfits a week or more in advance and wait for just the right moment to wear them. Sometimes I lay things out the night before with some thought put into them. And sometimes I just reach for things that I think might look cute together and throw them on. This was one of those mornings.

The shower is a good place to strategize about one's outfit on days when you haven't planned ahead. That's also what I did today and where the seeds of this outfit started to grow. It is a tad "chilly" here in Los Angeles, so I wanted to wear pants and something a little cozy. Despite the "chilly" weather, it feels like we should officially be wearing more spring like patterns and colors as it warms up by midday. Therefore, a light sweater like this floral one popped into my mind as the perfect solution. I just added some dots and my favorite embellished shirt and I was good to go. Who says you can't plan in the shower?
