Independence Day Stripes

Happy Fourth of July! I will preface this post the way I usually do for the Fourth of July: What you see below is not the outfit I am wearing today for grilling and spending time with friends and family, but I did wear it last week in honor of the holiday. The one thing I love about the week of July Fourth is that you can wear red, white and blue on repeat for the whole week. Although, quite honestly, these colors are prefect all summer long.

I purchased this skirt from the website Etsy last year. It is designed by Hannah Everly who makes some great pieces that are preppy, colorful and vaguely reminiscent of kate spade. Believe it or not, last week was my first time wearing it. I guess if I had to wait the whole year to debut this skirt, Independence Day week is a perfect time to show it off with a bang! Whatever you may find yourself doing this holiday weekend, I hope it is relaxing, restful and full of fun with family and friends!
