The Key to My Heart

Last weekend I discovered that parts of a nearby outdoor mall had been renovated to include many public art pieces, including this one that contains some hearts and, of all things, locks. If you inspect the installation closely, you will see that couples have left locks with their names on them on the grid behind me. I guess the point is to commemorate your love with a lock, perhaps one that only the couple has the key to. What a strange but interesting idea for a mall to implement, not to mention a cool place to take photos! Perhaps next time my husband and I will have to leave a lock of our own at this location.

This shift dress I am wearing is another Black Friday find. Once I bought it, I became obsessed with finding a turtleneck to go underneath. I thought a plain white turtleneck would give it more of a 60s mod feel, however I didn't anticipate that finding a turtleneck would be such a quest. I don't normally shop at Walmart for clothes, but while picking up some other staples, I happened upon this one, which was exactly what I was looking for. I also picked up a really comfy pair of sweatpants for $6 that I just happen to be wearing as I am typing this.

  2. I have found the best accessories from Wal Mart lately and you know they have some awesome clothes too - you just have to dig and shop online. That BR Dress I recognized right away because it is on my wish-list and I hope to find it this weekend at my store in my size. Hey I need a white layering turtleneck too. Thanks for the Wal Mart tip.

    1. Thank you so much Kim! Yes, you definitely need to come and spend some time in California. I actually don't live by that many "cool" locations for pictures, but I try to get creative with what I have to work with.
