Colorful Chairs and Dominos

Last week we finally had the type of weather in Southern California that is worthy of big, warm wool coats and the timing could not have been better. You see, the weekend after Christmas I bought several wool coats for a steal at Banana Republic. In the dressing room there, I was going back and forth between making my potential purchases or not making them. On the one hand, I completely realize that thick wool coats are seldom needed in Los Angeles. On the other hand, I liked the coats and they were a great price.

The thing that sealed the deal for me to purchase these impractical yet economical jackets was that this neon yellow-green one matched my new, not so economical Gucci python clutch. I bought this bag in Las Vegas, as python is actually illegal to purchase in California, and although I'm not a huge python fan, I couldn't resist all of the gorgeous colors of the bag. Sure, a lot of my very colorful wardrobe already matches the vibrant colors of the bag, but this coat seemed to be a match made in heaven for it, so I was sold.

My husband later lamented how the purchase of one thing, be it a bag or a coat, leads to other purchases so that I can have a complete outfit. I can't say that I disagree with him, as women's clothing always leads to a dangerous domino effect of purchases. But then, that's part of the fun!

  6. 'The domino effect' - oh yes, I know exactly what you mean all too well. I don't think guys quite understand this as well as we women do!
I like how apart from the clutch you kept everything else low key so that the coat and clutch - the two centre pieces can really shine.
And I too love that last shot of you looking so at home in your neon coat amongst those neon chairs. It's brilliant! It's just the perfect location for your photo shoot!

  8. That coat is gorgeous, I might have to buy it. And that clutch oh my. Why is Python illegal in California, I didn't know that. You have the best collection of bags and shoes first of all, as well as the best collection of skirts, sweaters and coats. And I totally get the domino effect since I am the same. The last photo of you in the middle of the bright colored chairs is so striking. Very clever title, too.
