Tiny Dancers

Last weekend, my husband and I went to a murder mystery dinner. If you've never attended one, I highly recommend it, especially if you like campy acting and/or feeling like Philip Marlowe, both of which are enhanced by a cocktail or two. Even though the delightful ballerinas on my dress have nothing to do with the theme of the particular murder mystery we attended, I thought it would be a fun occasion to break out this new dress from Anthropologie.

Since it's been rather cold, for Southern California, I paired this flouncy ballerina dress with some red tights and a pussy bow blouse underneath, which kind of gives off a Parisian schoolgirl look. Unfortunately, the dress sold out very quickly, which is understandable because of the adorable print. There is, however, a cold-shoulder blouse with the same print that is still available. (I think if this blouse goes on sale, I'll probably buy it too, because that's how in love I am with this print!) Below, I also linked to another affordable dress that features a ballerina print!

At the particular murder mystery we attended, they gave out several prizes at the end of the dinner. Given my snazzy outfit, you might have assumed that I won for best dressed, but unfortunately that wasn't one of the categories. (If it was, however, I am sure that I would have won, given that fact that a lot of people there were wearing jeans and t-shirts!) I did, however, win for most creative guess as to who the murderer was and the motive for the crime. So, as you can see, my creativity extends past just planning outfits and into the world of crime solving! Philip Marlowe would be proud, despite the fact that I didn't guess the correct person!

  1. What a gorgeous dress - but I especially love it with the red tights. I adore red and here they bring out the colours and design of the dress in a way that other colours surely wouldn't. All in all, a fabulous look!
